Shopping with Father Christmas
ME invited me for lunch............
So after, a spot of reading outside, STEP and zen-pilates, I drove to her place, for an early lunch. She took me to an Italian restaurant, which was still serving breakfasts. She had pizza, I opted for the South African breakfast.
NOTE : Not particularly sure, what made it South African, it was a standard cooked breakfast, 2 fried eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, a sausage, some tomato/onion mixture and toast. The coffee, I had a cappachino, was extra.
After lunch, she asked if I minded if she went shopping - her dogs needed dinner.
Of course, I said, no problem. But, the shopping spree, was eye opening.......what she spend on her dogs, flawed me.
She headed to the counter, selling pre-cooked meals. And bought an enormous amount of mince and rice, plus six pieces of chicken.
HUMAN FOOD. Enough to feed a human family for a week.
The cost of it. OMG ! This is pre-cooked food. She did not bat an eyelid at the till, just whipped out a card and swiped it. It was like shopping with Father Christmas.
See it, put it in the trolley.
We really live in different worlds !
The dogs in my world, get dog biscuits and the scraps, as "treats". The scraps are the bits and pieces, we humans would not eat or couldn't eat, because there was too much.
I put a shot of the dogs, as an extra, this was taken, shortly after we returned to the house and some of the spoils of the shopping trip, were distributed. The dogs got, the 6 pieces of chicken, 2 each and this was followed by a "chewy".
The father christmas is part of the christmas decorations at the shopping centre, we visited.
