Kerala - along the backwaters

We had an all day tour which gave us a real flavour of this wonderful South Indian state. 

First, we experienced the traffic chaos and madness as scooter after scooter, and motorbike after motorbike, wove in and out around the tuk-tuks and the colourful lorries.

Close your eyes.....

Then a lovely cruise on a houseboat along the backwaters.  When our boatman realised I was interested in birds, he pointed out Brahman Kites, bee eaters, a kingfisher, drongo, cormorants, egrets andso much more. 

The a super meal in a resort hotel. I’d love to come back. 

A fabulous day... and we’re setting sail soon.
