Poinsettia

Ian went to asda shopping today and returned with this lovely poinsettia in a shiny pot.

Christmas is the traditional time when people buy this indigenous Mexican plant. It is also known as Christmas Flower.

Its proper name is Euphorbia pulcherrima but derives its English name from Joel Roberts poinsettia, the first United States Minister to Mexico, who introduced the plant to the US in 1825.

My first day after chemo and I have felt very sleepy and spent the afternoon dozing on and off. I havent left the house as its been bitterly cold and there was a very heavy frost this morning.
