The Snow Phoenix!
It took 3 hours driving back to Warwickshire to see the folks! Where my grandma enjoyed being pushed around in her new wheelchair that I had bought for her, and I opened The Snow Phoenix which was appreciated by my brother and father.
This is a single malt of stunning complexity, balance and elegance. Rich apple pie flavours entwine with aromatic honey, finishing with a smoky, mocha backnote.
This limited edition malt from one of Speyside's most famous distilleries was created after the distillery roof collapsed under heavy snow. As staff worked to clear the snow and rescue hundreds of barrels exposed to the cold, it occurred to distiller Brian Kinsman that the malt within the barrels could be saved as a fantastic non-aged single malt. " A limited-edition bottling from the whiskies in damaged warehouses would be an appropriate way of celebrating the pioneering spirit of the distillery team at this moment in Glenfiddich's history," malt master Brian Kinsman explained. "A photographer was shooting and, rather fittingly, when we looked at the pictures, the light shining through the roof looked like a phoenix rising."
