Gaddin' Aboot

Seems the Gadwalls that appeared on the Figgy a few months ago are perfectly well settled in. Three males, at least two females, and we'll be heading for breeding season, so hoping for some Gadwall ducklings at some point. At first glance the ducks appear a fairly uniform grey, with some brown wings, but get close and the barring on the feathers is striking, the tucked back wings giving the impression of an angel.

Oh, and they haven't been claimed yet for the BlipBigYear (which is now well over 180 species - this is quite something when you consider we're only uploading one picture each a day, rather than going on a massive Twitcher hunt)...

Anyway, while I was gaddin' aboot early morning before getting a paper to digest over breakfast, the day is a 'working one'. Have not long finished almost 2 hours in the kitchen scrubbing it from top to toe. Soon heading off up to Mel's dad's house to teach him how to download apps on his new phone. Which should be... interesting...
