Portraits Never Were My Forte

F'rinstance, if you're wondering why this is at a funky angle, well it counteracts the horrifically jowly appearance of this (and that spare line to the right isn't a hairline, but the original cheek line). I should really spend more time and care than 20 minutes scribbling, but it pleases me. Much much much more than being in the office on a Monday, with a slight feeling of scapegoating (that I'm sure isn't actually that, but it's two years to the day my old work redundancy was announced so I'm allowed to be paranoid).

Interesting fact of the day - forte, as used in the title here, is generally pronounced for-tay. However, it comes from the French, fort (meaning strong), and with the 'e' on the end (without an accent), it should actually be pronounced 'fort' (the English version, like a barricaded strongpoint). For some reason, however, common usage has rendered it a double-syllable word. Ain't language funny?

1 day down; 4 to go.
