Easy Sunday ...

As Blip also's meant as a diary I may not forget to mention that there are days that are very easy. Like the day of today ... The weather was beautiful, sun, a cloudless sky, less wind and a temperature of about 0ºC (on the outside thermometer next to the window).

I decided to stay inside after the morning exercises. I was outside yesterday afternoon and got through and through cold so today no wandering in temperatures below 18ºC.
Reading newspapers, magazines, listening to good music, cups of coffee and of course making a blip.

I set myself in a chair before the door to the backyard with a small binocular, a camera and Detlef Singer's Field Guide of Birds in Europe. Perhaps I could experience how it would be to join the Bird Counting in one's own backyard in te near future. I couldn't say that I saw many birds. Three common chaffinches, one robin, a blackbird and five, or were there six, or seven ... or ten great tits (?) How do you keep birds of the same species out each other to be able to assess the right number ... I pictured a great tit that ate of an almost emptied food sphere against a sunlit background ... ;)
