Norwegian Getaway ...

Today the brand new Norwegian Getaway docked again in Rotterdam. This large cruise ship includes a water park with five water slides that can be seen on the upper deck.

The Norwegian Getaway is the sister ship of the Norwegian Breakaway. That ship was also presented in Rotterdam last year .

The Norwegian ships are vacation paradises . On board are 27 different restaurants, Broadway shows, a spa with hydrotherapy pools, saunas and salt cabins, a nine- hole golf course, a climbing rope course and a rock climbing wall. There is room for 4,000 passengers .

Last Saturday the vessel reported to the Wilhelmina Pier to make a cruise on the North Sea with guests. I didn't manage to make a good photo then. But today there was a second chance. The ship returned but will also leave again today with passengers to Southampton. Then the ship sails on to the United States where Miami is home port. Hence, the ship will make traveling through the Caribbean.

To the arrival and departure of cruise ships is a harbinger of the next year. The number of calls in Rotterdam rises from thirty to sixty!

Today I managed to take pictures. I opted for a wide shot to show both how huge this ship is and on the advancing the skyline of the south bank of the river Meuse.

And this very day I read an article in the newspaper about the New York Times top ten list of must have seen cities in the world. And guess what ... Rotterdam is in that top ten list. Also in the top ten of travel guide Rough Guide. Calling both in chorus : You should visit that city in 2014!
