Spectacle

Slow start to the day, chatting over breakfast about loin cloths in medieval art history and other such stuff, then VG left and we got organised and set off for a wander. Nice to have a day off, and although the weather was a bit rubbish we had a good stroll around the Christmas market and other shops, soaking up the atmosphere and not minding the drizzle. Nice to be able to do that without too many people around...heavens knows how busy it will soon get.
Lunch then more wandering before meeting S off the train and home to leave her bags and look at the flat. We then headed to Stockbridge and had a delicious dinner in Taisteal before walking round to the Botanics and taking in the lighting spectacular. Didn’t really realise tonight was the first night and we were in the last time slot so it was pretty quiet but lovely...especially the field of colour changing balls and the lake of boats also changing colours...and we were so pleased it wasn’t too cold and the rain had stopped. Perfect.
Home for prosecco and chat after a lovely day.
