A beauty “played” by the beast

The day was so drab that it even embarrassed drabness. We were not able to trudge through the damp, soaking mizzle during the day so it was a thoroughly dark drabness that we trudged through in the damp dank air which felt that some sort of pestilence was just around the corner.

I can see the attraction of Southern California on winter days like today. Although it has to be said they do suffer from June Gloom when the inversion layer spreads inland from the coast.

No chance of an outside blip today. Ensconced inside doing administration and continuing to catch up with tasks like renewing house insurance, completing emails to friends, making a scotch broth for tea.
