Word of the Day is 'Bouncy'

It snowed! It has been snowing! Snow is fun. Especially when there was a notable absence of snow over Christmas, snow is fun. We meant to go bird watching in Aberlady today, but that plan has been suspended - replaced with a new master plan to head to the Borders, collect a vintage collectable coffee table, and return. Before the snow gets worse. However, we did swing by Musselburgh on the way back, on the off chance of seeing some waders, loons, godwits and god knows what else - but that plan failed too. Instead we hit Portobello Esplanade - and the Espy - oh my word why have I never been there before? My life is largely fulfilled now - I'd really recommend that place, with its heart breakingly good homemade ginger beer. Yum. Also saw the Portobello swim centre - I'm certain I'll be back soon for the Turkish bath experience. And then. Finally, back home to Edinburgh, squeezing in a surprise run before dinner. Surprise in that it was the only thing we had actually planned to do today that succeeded. So, basically a good day on all accounts, even if it wasn't exactly to plan. What are Sundays for it not this?
