Daffodil Days Vases

The daffodil days vases shortly before packing for their trip to California. The vases are made of a mixture of lots of different scrap clays that were extruded. The different clays were loaded as globs to get the texture. The outside was left unglazed to display the patterning and to avoid detracting from the daffodils. The insides of the vases were glazed many different primary colors. The firing went smoothly as did the packing. I did kept causing my gloves to smoke with a hot unload. The firing was to cone 5 with an 18 minute hold at temperature - somewhere like 2265? Clay was stoneware.

Today I am grateful for the day I was given, that the whole vase project went smoothly and stayed on schedule, Henry the typing cat, and that nice warm bed awaiting me in a few minutes.
