Anthony Gormley

Early start today walking Murray before sun-up.  Headed off to London to the Royal Academy of Art to see the Anthony Gormley exhibition of sculpture.  My slot wasn't until the afternoon so saw Lucian Freud's self portraits.  I can see he was accomplished but there's an element of coldness and roughness to the skin tones. Still interesting to see how his style developed.
I was, however, completely awestruck by the Gormley exhibition. The scale and variety of different sculpture and ideas was breathtaking.  His small sketchbooks with big ideas was delightful.
