Mistletoe

Although they are barely seen in my photo, there are bunches of mistletoe pegged to the "washing line".

We were told that mistletoe does not grow well in Kent , although I have seen it attached to apple trees in Penshurst Place grounds. The mistletoe being sold at the Shoreham Hop Shop comes from a fellow farmer in Herefordshire.

I had a late morning visit from an old friend. Her journeys to me always seem jinxed by traffic incidences. Today, she discovered that some nearby roads were closed for roadworks , and warnings or diversion signs were not in place. This involved finding an alternative route and added time to the journey.

This afternoon we made another trip to the Hop Shop. It is beautifully decorated for christmas and I bought a few of their lavender products as gifts.

It's been a bitterly cold day with a heavy morning frost, but bright and sunny. The best sort of weather for the time of year.
