Stop Digging

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

We have a new scrum master who is all about the soft skills. In the stand ups, he asks lots of gentle “do you need anything?” or “would you like someone to help with this?” questions or asks everyone to “check to see if you can support someone.” To be honest, this is a dangerous game to play in ta room full of people who have never had their place in the spectrum officially diagnosed.

Today, however, he managed to make all the sphincter muscles in the room clench. He asked if DD, one of our Indian analysts, had dialled into the meeting and everyone has a little giggle as DD (who was standing in the room wearing a brown jumper) said “No, I’m right here.”

New Scrum Master was a little bit flustered and apologised “Sorry DD, you must have blended into the brown background.”

We spent the rest of the stand up watching tumbleweed rolling around the room!
