Delicate and Dainty....

The creamy feathery flower stalks on this plant made for some confusion. I thought the plant was Filipendula. (Meadowsweet). Then a contributor on “Plant Identification NZ” suggested the plant is an Astilbe. A third suggestion was Aruncus dioicus, aka Goatsbeard. I don’t suppose it matters very much. It is rather lovely growing with pink alstroemerias in our garden.
We have had some very welcome warm northerly rain.... Yay!
