UCU strike day 8

The 8 days of the strike are over now. The spirit on the picket line was great. Excellent opportunity to chat with people. Working at a university is great. So many interesting people. Unfortunately little time to stop and chat. So the strike is a great opportunity. Shame with don't get paid. After we've done our duty on the picket line we went for drinks. It was strange being back in the Holyrood Tavern {now 9a). It used to be my most favourite pub. Now it is all posh. Ah well. Then the after strike party at Tiviot House. Had a great chat with a photographer following the strike.

Next we will be working to contract. It is ridiculous that working only the contracted hours is a threat. Any way. I suspect we will be back protesting in February.
