Start of the festive season
“That will be 250 calories” intoned the self- appointed Tsar of our fitness class as I reached for a mince pie on the table, a festive plate provided by the Peak Sports Village for all those participating in their Fit4Life class.
Well, surely not? Unfortunately he’s right.
I googled it on my return home and this is what I found:
Calories per mince pie:
Tesco 262
Waitrose 259
Sainsbury's 259
Lidl 257
Asda 247
Morrison's 214
Photo: our first Christmas card arrived this morning - pleased to see its one in aid of the RSPB (Royal Society for the Preservation of Birds).
What with that and mince pies it looks as if the festive season is about to begin, though this year I am determined to keep consumer spending to an absolute minimum in an effort to “go green”.
