the snug

This is the snug bar of the Globe Inn, in Dumfries, adorned with prints of scenes from Tam O'Shanter. I had picked Chris up from the station after work, and we went for a drink here before heading home, where D was busy cooking our tea (and very nice it was too).

The weather has been windy and very wet today. I'm hoping that it will be better tomorrow night for our Big Sleepout in aid of Social Bite and the local charity MOOL. There will be about 10 of us sleeping out in the grounds of Allanton World Peace Sanctuary. For many of those people it will be their first ever experience of sleeping in the open. Some are in their 20s, some in their 70s and 80s, and a few (like myself!) somewhere in-between. Watch this space!
