Crossing Beckfoot Bridge
A slightly later start to our ‘River’ walk thus morning with no glorious skies. (Thank you all for putting yesterday’s sunrise in P1 of Popular)
Here are two of our five crossing the old Packhorse Bridge over Harden Beck at Beckfoot this morning. It was still dark enough for the lights to be on in the lovely old building that is Beckfoot Farm next to the Ford.
From here it got lighter as we crossed the River Aire at Myrtle Park and then followed the river all the way to Ravenroyd before turning back up to the St Ives Estate. Not quite the full ‘Deer’ walk but we did see about half a dozen at the top of the woods. You can barely see them unless they move. Sadly we didn’t see Wilsden Walkers Stag.
It was a bit muzzle but we missed the worst of the rain which came later.
When I got home I saw a funny little (actually quite large) bird on the feeder. It looked like a Siskin but it’s wings didn’t meet at the back and it had a thick neck almost as if it had a goitre? Any thoughts (extra)
This afternoon we sang with the ATN choir at Cottingley Care Home. It was so hot we had a couple of singers nearly pass out but of course if they opened a window or door the residents complained of a draught. I think they enjoyed it!
Happy weekend every one.
