Inside the Dome.
Spent the morning 'going back to' places where we had seen things earlier in the week. Anthropologie, Laura Ashley and
Waterstones where we had coffee again.
A warmer and drier day so we walked along Princes Street but really we had done all we needed and wanted somewhere to pass a bit of the afternoon before our train home.
We have passed the Dome many times but my Edinburgh friend didn't know it. I wanted to go as it features on day 1 of this year's Jacquie Lawson Advent calendar. It is the former Physician's Hall and has a famed Georgian tea room with chandeliers.
We were warned the grill room was fully booked and there was a 30-45 minute wait for the Club Room. We wanted to look in and this is in the entrance area. We waited, a bit like waiting for Betty's and the wait wasmore like 20 minutes and worth it.
We had homemade soup, chips and Prosecco! Then we had tea.
The building is always decorated outside and looks wonderful at night. Today a group of school children were singing on the steps. A great way to round off our four day trip.
We have been trying to work out how many years we have been coming. We can't quite establish that but think we started in 2007 before I retired. We've not been every year and have varied the time of year to accommodate different activities.
One things for sure we will be coming again.
