Our Advent candles

At the start of Advent I set out five candles on our dinner table. There are four red ones, one for each of the four weeks before Christmas, and a white one for Christmas Day. As the weeks go by, more candles are lit, and there is more light to remind us of the coming of the Light of the world.
This week, only one candle lights our evening meal. It represents the Prophets and the first glimmer of the Promised One.
This is one of my favorite traditions of Christmas.
