Weird Adventures
The rain held off long enough to take Jess to see some bits of the moor we missed on our more extensive walk yesterday morning. We then went to Leeds for the afternoon. I spent some time in the Library while Jess took a look around the Arcades and the Corn Exchange.
The main reason for heading into town was to see "Knives Out', a gloriously inventive and entertaining homage to Agatha Christie. The "whodunnit" as a genre is not as dead in the water as we all might have thought. I'd defy anyone not to enjoy this and be thrilled by the twists and turns of the plot. If you only watch one movie this Christmas, make it this one. Your money back if you're disappointed!
There was more suspense once the film finished. So engrossed were we with talking about the plot that we accidentally left by a fire exit and found ourselves locked in the bowels of the Light Complex, trapped in endless corridors and stairwells. I was all for using the service lift, to see where we might get belched out, but Jess wasn't keen.
She spotted movement through a crack in one of the locked doors and started banging. The door was eventually opened and we were grateful to be led out through the kitchens of Frankie and Bennys. When we were thanked for our custom at the door, I wanted to explain what had happened but was persuaded otherwise. Jess said it was the weirdest thing that had happened to her in all her seven months of travelling.
