At the end of the day

A turn at Wittersham Road on the second weekend of Santa Specials on the Kent and East Sussex Railway.

The trains were packed and from what I could see everyone was having a good time. What should have been a straightforward day was not quite so with minor niggles throughout.

All worked out in the end and we finished on time and in the dark. Very cosy in the box at night time with only the warm yellow light for company and the pinprick red and green signal lights in the distance.

Today’s blip is of the yard at the end of service as two of the three locos used today gently cool after the exertions of the day.
