Crow on the wall

There was competition today between this carrion crow and a very smart magpie. I cut fat off the remains of yesterday’s roast pork and put the pieces on top of the wall. I watched out of the kitchen window as they took it in turns at the feast. In the end the crow decided to fly off with his beak stuffed, leaving just a crumb for the magpie. Both are handsome birds but they are greedy raiders. The magpie has broken open all the cells in my bug house.
