Dedicated Dog-Walker

Rain, rain glorious rain. We awoke to a stormy morning, blowing a gale and heavy rain. It sounded really wild out there. So when the wind dropped I was into heavy duty raincoat and waterproof Keen sandals and off to the Upper Taylor with the dogs who don't mind what the weather is doing as long as they get their walk. It was a morning for only the dedicated among us. There was Leigh with his beautiful Golden Retriever, Izzie. Leigh is a hardy soul who goes off on trekking trips in Nepal. But he is always out and about early with Izzie when home in New Zealand. Tomorrow the river will likely be running right over the concrete ford which can be seen in the background. That will be good for the trout and eels trapped in the small summer pools. This rain is welcome indeed.
