Bunch of roses
It has been a disgusting day in Margaret River today. Early this morning it seemed as though we might be in for some relief from the heat as there was a thunderstorm and a 15 minutes downpour, but a couple of hours later it was 38ºC and so humid. Walking outside was like hitting a wall of hot air. As I said....it was a disgusting day. It certainly wasn't a day to be outside photographing birds, butterflies or flowers.
I was pleased that I had chosen to collect these roses from the garden yesterday afternoon as they wouldn't have lasted the day outside without being singed by the sun. The perfume is beautiful and I really like the freeform of the arrangement with a variety of roses at different phases from buds to fully opened. It is rare that you can find such a bunch of roses to buy...they are almost always at the same stage of opening (usually quite tight buds) and often don't have any perfume. The effort of growing them is rewarded with something special.
