As Close As Heaven, Soho, London

Yesterday was supposed to be our photography department Christmas drinks, but as usual, my fellow photographers started to drop out the nearer it got. So, in the end, there was just four of us, so we decided to just have a good time anyway! The pub we decided to go to isn't often really busy during the day (except Fridays) but, bloody hell, it was busy last night.
As we often work alone in studios separated by different floors, and in some cases, different streets we don't get together very often so our conversations are never boring. Our newish book photographer, Laura, told us some fascinating stories. Her experiences of being an assistant were very different to mine - she worked for two fashion photographers, one very technical and one vey creative and learnt a lot. I also worked for two photographers - but just spent endless hours loading sheet film into darkslides, processing film and mixing chemicals. They both taught me very little photography wise. It's strange how two people can have the same job but totally different experiences. She's also a drummer in a punk rock band that has toured in Spain - very cool!
I managed to get home without over imbibing so that was good.
Today's shot was taken on a lunchtime walk around Soho. I loved the difference between the Girl Ray poster and this man trying to control his gaggle of dogs.
