Elves in the Tree

Went to the hairdresser this morning and then a Tesco shop after.  Got home just before 12 and as I thought KG was out I reversed the car up the drive (Iwas going to drive it in) so if i made a mess he wouldn't know!!  Anyhow I did it perfectly and was well pleased with myself when he opened the door - he didn't have table tennis it was the second Friday of the month - we both thought it was later than that.  Any how he was pleased that I had reversed it in.  
After lunch I noticed the elves weren't on their shelf.  Where could the be - then - I heard voces
Come on said Elf  you just have to reach a little higher.
Not sure said Safety  it looks a long way down.
Oh grab my hand said Elf 
OK said Safety  . . .. . . 
At that point I walked in  and they jumped out of  (see extra)  of the Christmas Tree and scampered back to their shelf
They are getting more mischievous
