Gunwharf Quays
Well we woke up to the news that Boris is still our Prime Minister, can’t say we’re happy, but it’s kind of what we expected.
Alan’s had a day off work today as it’s his birthday weekend, and we’ve come to Portsmouth for an overnight stay which was booked before I had my surgery, but we needed to finish our Christmas shopping, so Gunwharf Quays is the best place to come, and great to combine his birthday too.
The boys are staying with Charlotte the doggy sitter, and were very excited to see her! Better still, she’s going to groom them while she’s got them, so they’ll be pampered pooches!
We had a very successful shop for Alan, which was the main thing, and we also got Scott’s Christmas present, but all I got was a V shaped pillow for nursing mothers lol! Now I’m not a nursing mother as you know, but I’m hoping it’ll be good for my shoulder.
Anyway, after a good day’s shopping where I’ve not overdone it, as Alan’s carried the bags, we enjoyed the Christmas lights, but even better was the Spinaker Tower which was illuminated - it doesn’t half look like the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, just a bit smaller!
We then checked into our hotel which is in Old Portsmouth and found an Indian restaurant within walking distance and had a lovely meal. Everywhere is very busy with Christmas parties though, including the hotel, but luckily we’re on the fifth floor so can’t hear anything.
