Cheered Me Up
Nothing better to cheer me up than this little cheeky thing - took her and M to the local burger place and they have this set up for photos. After the extremely depressing election when the reminder that most people seek self first and have no real care for the environment, the poor or human rights to name just a few progressive policies it was good to have a laugh.
I was speechless when I read about a lady who was interviewed after the vote - she said her father and grandfather had both been miners and they had voted labor since she could remember but she couldn’t bring herself to vote for Jeremy Corbyn. When asked why - her response “I don’t like his mannerisms”. I think that fairly summed up what has gone wrong with democracy particularly In the US and UK where the first past the post and electoral college anachronisms allow a president to be elected who had 3 million less votes than his challenger and in the UK 43% of those who voted can secure over 60% majority for one party. And to top it all, the leader of one of the parties has annoying mannerisms but at least he knows how many children he has. Still Z made me laugh!
