Partying in the music room
Today was focused on (a) preparing for the arrival of guests at our annual Christmas drinks party and (b) partying with the guests at our annual Christmas drinks party.
We have part (a) down to a fine art, following the practice of previous years: in short, cooking in the morning and sorting out the flat in the afternoon. Indeed, the first three paragraphs of the text that I blipped this time last year could refer to today. All the work involved in part (a) is worth it for the fun of part (b).
The first guest arrived just after 6pm (this was Jon of course), and we stopped partying just after 2am. Over the course of eight hours forty of us worked our way through 25 bottles of fizz, 5 bottles of wine, and 10 bottles of beer. Amongst us were a few blippers - alfthomas, ArcLight, Ridgeback13, and Winsford. Sadly nadinepierce could not make it due to illness, but we made sure she knew that we missed her.
My blip shows Jack, Paul and Mr T entertaining party guests in the music room (AKA my study). I have added two extras: trays of mini quiches ready to go into the oven this morning, and a selfie with Mummy hazelh at the start of the evening's proceedings.
Exercise today: walking/dancing (13,063 steps).
