Inside the Bull Ring, Birmingham

Last Tuesday the London train was cancelled when it arrived in Maidstone. On Friday the 10.23 Avanti train to Shrewsbury cancelled and the next available train 30 minutes late. The return journey was over an hour late. Today’s 14.03 from Euston to Birmingham cancelled and the next left 25 minutes late.

What will tomorrow’s return journey bring?

I am in Birmingham for another of the monthly meetings to progress the new online learning environment for learners in custody. Susan took the opportunity to come along so we could visit the Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market.

We did get there around 8.00pm and had a wander around then a warm in the Bull Ring Centre. The stalls were very impressive structures much more so than those at the Edinburgh Winter Market. Most of the stalls were selling food and drink and the other selling the ubiquitous Christmas stuff you find in any market.

The market was far more vibrant around Victoria Square and rather sparse around New Street. We enjoyed the canal area around Brindley Place and also Centennial Place. All brightly lit, interesting places.
