BACKBLIP: Hazel and oak criss-cross

One of the things I do like about winter is the opportunity to see the true shape and structure of deciduous trees. I was very taken with this apparent lattice of oak branches with the hazel bush under-storey at the top of the escarpment along the northern edge of Stirling's King's Park. The view was almost monochrome, except for the strip of blue sky visible through the branches.
