Two Phases of Water

While the weather felt pretty chilly this morning in London, it wasn't actually below zero, so these drops on the windscreen of my car were water rather than ice. However, it had clearly been colder during the night, because the inside of the windscreen remained frosted over. You can just about make our the shadows and highlights of the water droplets on the icy layer below.

Fortunately, I didn't need to scrape the windscreen clear, as I was heading in to work on my bicycle, although I was doing so wearing two layers of socks and gloves against the cold.
