A Regiment of Santas
Quite a busy day but we did manage to have an hours sleep early afternoon after the tiring evening and late night yesterday.
Today, 18 December, is 45 years to the day when we first met. It was an RAF Boddington (No, not Bovington, everyone thinks that) Christmas 'do' in 1974. I was introduced to Marlane and was immediately smitten and in love. Not so Marlane, for a start I was already tipsy after going to the venue to make arrangements with the Longhope Manor staff, particularly the barman!
So back to the Santas. Each year Marlane gets a load of the Lindt santas and each one has a family members name on it and they hang on the tree for when they come around.
One load comes a couple of evenings before Christmas Eve and another load on Christmas Eve, and then we have Christmas Day of course!
Two of these Santas are different though. Isabella and Harriet are, at the moment, allergic to cows milk and even a tiny bit makes them vomit.
Marlane has chocolate moulds for all occassions and so she bought some 'Free From' chocolate and made the twins Santas herself using the foil from two of the Lindt ones.
The two that had the foil taken off were delicious by the way!
