How long is forever?

I had to go into Pézenas very early this morning, and took this photo on the way home at 8am. Snow is forecast for later this morning - yep as far south as the Mediterranean. The leaden skies above the sunrise make for an eerie start to the day.

I just read, on the BBC News site, that an eye-witness to this morning's central London helicopter crash was quoted as saying "It's something I shall never forget for a long time". So memory has built in obsolescence now?
