Santa was at Morrisons

No chance to sit around and relax today. Took me about two hours to write the Christmas letter which won't go out now until Christmas Eve, for reasons that should be apparent tomorrow.

Drove to Hathern to collect a raffle prize. Overjoyed to discover that it was THE doggy hamper from College Garth Rescue Kennels. Basil was suitably impressed. See extra.

The road to Loughborough is still under water at the southern end of the village, but it was navigable with care. People are still using the one lane for both streams of traffic.

At Morrisons, I encountered the Loughborough Round Table who were out collecting for the Air Ambulance. Santa was very well accoutered, as you can see.

Last episode of His Dark Materials tonight presaging the meeting of Lyra and Will in another universe, followed by A Christmas Carol. Very dark.
