William and the Tiger

Grandad and I took William on the Great Central Railway Santa Special today, with Basil of course. One of the guards was a tiger. He went off for his tea when William and I were looking for him for a photo. We did find him. Will was scared at first and then, when he discovered the tiger was friendly, he sat down with him.

Only official photos with Santa, so I haven't got one of them to offer but Will did get a present.

We travelled from Loughborough to Birstall and straight back again. After the journey, we spent a little while in the refreshment room where the  nice young man behind the bar gave Basil a sausage,  and then we watched  the trains getting up steam.
