Winter scene, finally

Frosted

dim light after dawn
frosts flurries faint blue
winter workers warm cars
no cakewalk the commute
for their slice of today


The weather folks were wrong yet again, the snow didn't change immediately to rain on the South Shore. Heavy and wet, it piled up on the small back roads making the drive to the train station treacherous at every corner . Not much accumulation, but enough to make the trip nasty. Several hours later it's falling from the branches as the temperatures warm and bring in the expected rain. Our street is now plowed, after the fact. The small towns try to save money and scrimp on the plowing but often it backfires. Today's folly resulted in many fender-benders this morning.
