"One Street" bottle
Bottled
inklings of history unbottled, uncorked
aqua glass yawning for pens dipped
with flowing inked thoughts
countless words faded forever
few whispers remain
The little Bonney Ink bottle was in my mother's bottle collection. The liquid contents were once manufactured on our street, a few houses down from the firehouse. W. E. Bonney had his residence next door and his ink business in the red house in this blip. It has been many things since his business closed, a lying-in hospital, a school, but is now a private residence.
Here's a few more details about the bottles and ink manufacture( After the Civil War to around 1910) that I pulled from an old web article
For the Record,
This day came in bright and sunny. Most of yesterday's snow has melted. The South Shore, Cape & Islands will get a little more snow tonight and tomorrow morning with colder temperatures.
