No Walk Today ....
This is a view from the gate where I park my car to do one of our Park Farm Fields walks (you can see Park Farm in the distance).
Lovely as the snow and this wintery weather is, it's now causing us some problems!
Weather reports said it would fall to -13 overnight last night. Harris was struggling to move around in our garden with the snow up to his armpits. So hubbie cleared a big area for our Little Man to go out and do what a dog has got to do. This was really important, as Harris gets me up a couple of times in the night to go out and I didn't want him disappearing in a snow drift at 2 o'clock in the morning!
Back to today. What is it about me that I always have to walk Harris every day, come what may? David suggested I would be crazy to go out, as the roads were going to be treacherous. But Harris had had his breakfast and was looking for the next thing on his agenda - his walk!
After getting us both togged up, overcoming frozen car door locks, sheet ice down our close and an unnerving drive in -9 conditions, we arrived at Park Farm and this lovely view.
I should have listened to hubbie though. I got Harris out of the car, put him down, pointing him in the right direction only to discover the snow was so deep, he all but disappeared! Our poor Little Man, what was I thinking of? At 15 and nearly 5 months, he doesn't need to go for a walk in weather like this!
So back we went. Harris was more than happy having a day in-doors keeping warm and going in the garden to stretch his legs and do what he needed to do.
Lesson of the day? Listen to my husband and learn!
