Smitingen in Winter
A little new snow fell last night and this morning was bright and a little frosty. There were a few Christmas bits and pieces to do and the day, while not sunny, was a lot brighter than it has been so we headed for the beach. There weren't so many people around but we weren't alone either as a few people had the same idea as us.
We walked to the far end of the beach and then came back to this southern corner, where the stream was swollen by all the rain. Jan pointed out that if we timed it right we could run along the spit of sand between her and me in the picture and then jump over the stream at the narrowest point. The running was necessary because each wave swept over that spit of sand and we wanted to keep our feet dry. I did it first, running and jumping, and then took this picture. Jan followed by strolling, albeit dynamically strolling, down the spit and taking a big step across (extra).
It was great to be out in the open, with the light on our faces, and a dry sky.
