Today's the day ………………………. for old haunts

Just time today for a walk along the River Kent in Kendal - before a Christmas lunch at the Old Fleece Inn - and then home.

It was good to see that the goosanders were still plentiful on the river, ducking and diving and looking very fine.  I did think of going to see an exhibition entitled 'Colour and Light ' at Abbot Hall of paintings from the Fleming Collection by the Scottish Colourists.  Unfortunately, Abbot Hall was closed for Christmas?! 

You would have thought that an Art Gallery would be just the sort of place that should be open in the holidays - when everyone would have a good chance of being able to visit.  Ah well, it was nice to walk along the riverside - and visit a few old haunts …………………...
