Jack and the bean stalk

We made it to the show............................ JUST.

I wanted to leave by 9.30, that is the time, Mom started getting dressed.  Eish !    We finally climbed into the car, just before 10.  The only way, we could make it, was to use the e-toll route.  Eish !

Fortunately, the traffic was not too bad, so we were in Braamfontein, just before 11.  And then..........

I turned up the street, to climb the hill to the theatre, the road I was in, was a one way and "we" had the right of way.  Before my eyes, a little delivery truck, came from one of the minor side streets, it didn't stop, it just crossed straight in front of me and hit, the blue golf, travelling in the middle lane. 

The golf spun around, eventually coming to a stop, in my lane.

The guy was visibly shaken, but I don't think he was hurt.  Car was banged up on drivers side.

I never actually slammed on brakes.............. I think,  I slowed down and came to a stop, or maybe time, stood still, I don't know.  When all was said and done, I put my indicator on, went round the mess and kept going.

OMG !   I was FREAKED out.  Mom was even more FREAKED OUT.  A split second earlier and it would have been us.

I should have stopped, it was THE RIGHT THING TO DO, but I didn't.  I just didn't have the band width to cope with it.

We turned into the theatre parking lot and I parked the car.   And then we headed for the restaurant.  We were too late for breakfast, instead we ordered the chicken kebabs.   I had the one with spicy peanut sauce, Mom had the one with sweet chilli sauce - they were nice.   See the extra.

We then proceeded into the theatre.

The show was great.  I really loved the special effects, they used to grow the bean stalk and the scene, at the top of the bean stalk - it had rainbows and butterflies.

Thankfully the trip home was a lot less eventful and we got home, without using the e-toll system.  I had a quick coffee and then, hopped in the car, to go home.
