Boxing Day. MIH came for a visit early.

I opened the kitchen blinds around 6.30 a.m.and MIH (Mr Imperial Highness, next door’s cat, for those who have not yet seen him before) was miaowing outside to come indoors.
It has not yet become completely daylight at 9.15am and had begun to rain earlier.
In the meantime it is not the kind of day where I can attempt a bit of a longer walk, so I shall carry on with my reading of Eye Can Write, A Memoir of a Child’s Silent Soul Emerging. It is written by Jonathan Bryan, who has severe disabilities and learned with amazing help and dedication, to use his eyes to laboriously choose individual letters, and through this make his thoughts known to the outside world.
He is now in his early teens.
A powerful read.
A great testimony to his those who, like his mother, fought for him to be able to use the equipment, and persevered through seemingly insurmountable odds.
If you read nothing else all
year, read this one.
