Bringing gifts

We opted not to go to the midnight mass, but instead went to the morning service.

Like the Magi, we arrived bearing gifts.

I "parked" the car, outside the church and unloaded.... three plates of short bread and the big flower cake, along with three tuna fish cakes.

Happiness is...........

The actual service, got off to an explosive start, which if nothing else, made for some entertainment.

We were there 15 minutes early, so the entertainment was "welcome".

Graham, Pieter and Lynn's son, who was visiting from China, had a fit, just before the service started.  For the Wesseloo family, it clearly was not a big deal, but it did, cause a flutter.  And, Mom, got delegated the task, to read the first reading, at the last minute.  Lynn was meant to do it, but, she left, to take Graham home.

I was stunned she agreed and she did a fabulous job.  I was so proud.

We arrived home and proceeded to cook the turkey and enjoy, a traditional Christmas lunch, at around 2.30 pm.

Then Mom, wanted us to deliver, the last of her Christmas cake gifts, to Jean.  We tried to phone, but surprise surprise, the phone would not connect, so we took a chance and just drove up, to their house.

They were home. And Jean was "up".

So Mom visited, whilst I walked my fit bit and then I "visited".

PS.  Visiting and gifting Jean with the cake, was something she really wanted to do. She is convinced, Jean won't be around, for next Christmas.  I wish I could say, she was being melodramatic,  but, Jean did not look good.  She is very frail and pretty much unable to walk.
