Tea-break
I ventured into central London for a productive meeting, where I met several colleagues I used to work with from two different places all now working together in a new venture. It was quite strange, but it's fantastic to be working with them again. I have plenty of work to get stuck into over the next few months, which is reassuring and exciting. I can't wait to get started.
Near the office that I visited was a temporary car park in the spot of a demolished building. These model workmen were perched on the first-floor window spaces of the demolished area. Opposite this was a London Graphic Centre, and I can never resist visiting one, so I popped in and bought a crisp new binder for my upcoming work. The sales assistant commented on my Scottish accent and said that his brother managed an estate at Ardross. I mentioned I was from Inverness and we had a good chat. He studied in Inverness and used to spend lunchtimes in the Happy Valley. I, too, spent many an afternoon at the Happy Valley, where I could make a pot of tea for 50p last over several hours. It turned out that we must have frequented the Chinese at the same time, although we didn't recognise each other (it was a long time ago). It's a small world.
