The labyrinth
Despite still being awake at 9.45pm Nathaniel was awake by 7.15 am. Ella did not surface till 9am, having been found still reading The Famous Five at 10.50.
We left #3 daughter to do her marking and took the children and a picnic to Cragside. They made friends with another family and played happily on the adventure apparatus, supervised by Mr C while I got 5000 steps done round the lakes.
After our picnic we went to the labyrinth, blipped. Of course they ran far too far ahead and when disaster struck (Ella slipped on the greasy path and hurt her foot) we were far out of range and took several dead ends before we heard them. Ella said dramatically that her brother had saved her life - he’d helped her to hop to a less muddy place and they’d sat down to hug each other till they heard us calling. (Bottom right). She says she’s never going to fight with him again!
We are all tired with the adventure so I think a TV chose is in order before dinner - which I must get made.
