A prickly situation

When I was a teenager I had a collection of cacti.   This one was around 20 cm high when I left home.   Mum planted it in the garden and now it is about 3 metres tall.  Of all the birds that visit, this kookaburra is the only one that seems to be able to use it as a perch.

In other news, today was the day that I took Poppy to the vet.   She had been throwing up from time to time but it was a huge shock to find out she was in kidney failure.  It was heart breaking leaving her at the specialist centre for further tests.  The night was spent praying and doing deals that the results would not be bad.
